Open data for impact and innovation

Date/Time
Date(s) - 11/12/2018
12:00 pm

ELIXIR is celebrating its fifth anniversary by hosting an event in Brussels entitled ‘Open Data for Impact and Innovation’ (Tuesday 11 December 2018, from 12pm, Crowne Plaza Hotel Brussels – Le Palace). The event is aimed at funders, policy-makers, industry representatives, and ELIXIR partners. As an ESFRI landmark infrastructure, ELIXIR’s role is to coordinate, integrate and sustain Europe’s life science data resources. Since its establishment in December 2014, ELIXIR has grown to become the largest ESFRI research infrastructure in terms of Membership by countries. Through a series of talks, ELIXIR will present its achievements from the past five years and describe the priorities for the next Scientific Programme (2019-2023). Complementary talks from high profile external speakers including Eric Paquet (Director General, Directorate General Research and Innovation, European Commission), Dame Janet Thornton (member of the Scientific Council, European Research Council) and Gabriela Pastori (BBSRC, and Chair of ESFRI Food and Health Strategic Working Group) will help set the wider policy context. This is an invitation-only event – please contact Melissa Balzano at events@elixir-europe.org for further details on how to register. Programme
